In the Beginning . . .
In 1993 our family returned to Van Buren county, our native home, with a renewed appreciation for a wonderful part of the Midwest that this part of Iowa represented. Long time executive director of the Villages of Van Buren, the late Mary Muir, was very instrumental in helping our family feel confident that the "cultural adjustment" from city life to rural Van Buren county would soon prove to be the best decision we ever made. How right she was!
I kept in close contact with Mary and when the Internet first came to our part of the state and early websites began to appear I told Mary that I felt a website had to be in her future as a centerpiece of economic development and tourism for the Villages of Van Buren organization. Website design was in it's infancy and those who claimed a knowledge in this field charged far beyond the budget of her non-profit organization.
Having won me over to the status of "cheerleader" for Van Buren county, I decided to learn the trade of website design and we had the original Villages of Van Buren site up and running in early 1996.
Since that early beginning more than a dozen years ago, I've enjoyed helping numerous businesses and
organizations in Van Buren county and elsewhere expand their reach via a
website presence. I continue to be a "cheerleader" for all that is Van
Buren county and I am still thrilled when I hear that the Internet
has introduced people to our part of the word and to businesses and
communities that call Van Buren county their home.
If I can be of help to you and your business either in or outside Van Buren county, please let me hear from you!
